The sunset on Thursday night

According to Google, today is First Day of Fall. There are actually plenty of leaves on the ground and trees has started to change color, but we still have warmer temperatures. This weekend we had 28 degrees and blue sky, real nice summer days. I do love fall though. The fall season is always very short in Sweden so it wasn’t until I moved here that I really started to love this season. In America fall also means pumpkins, Halloween, lots of decoration, pumpkin flavor added to exactly everything (coffee, beer, cookies, food, you name it) and Thanksgiving which has become one of my favorite holidays of the year. I can’t wait til when we have a house of our own and we can host Thanksgiving for both the American family but also invite the Swedish side. I picture us in the house that we like to build serving Jim’s turkey, some mashed potato, having pumpkin pie for dessert while we all watch football and I picture all the little cousins running around in the backyard and playing in the pool. And then I also picture an old Thor hunting for crumbs hoping to score some biscuits haha.

Even if I’m not ready for a new season, because it’s so nice and warm outside, I’m still secretly excited for a few things. Candles, snuggly blankets, sweaters and tea time. And then we can go straight to spring. I can do it without jackets, gloves and constantly frozen feet. Because of this years shitty baby story we have to suffer through one, two or more winters in the cold (I was hoping last year was the last one). I’m gonna enjoy the hell out of fall before winter now though haha. Who else is excited about fall?
